I am a BACP accredited counsellor who has worked in General Practice, in the community working with the bereaved, and working in private practice with both individuals and couples, since 2008.
I also offer counselling supervision to both student counsellors and qualified therapists.
My Way of Working
I am an integrative therapist which means that I am trained to use different counselling models depending on the needs of the individual or couple.
I offer both brief, solution-focused counselling and longer-term therapy and work with individuals struggling with a range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, bereavement, abuse and sexuality issues
I also work with couples and offer a secure and structured way to look at recurring difficulties including problems with communication, sexual and intimacy difficulties, the impact of past history on the relationship and ways of handling conflict constructively.
Research consistently shows that what matters most in counselling is the relationship between the client and counsellor. I, therefore, aim to provide a confidential space where you feel accepted and understood and able to examine deeply how you are feeling and what you are thinking and experiencing, so that you are able to accept yourself and others with more compassion and kindness.
